I was really looking forward to shooting this Christchurch Priory Wedding! Well, of course, I always look forward to shooting all our weddings, but it had been a dream of mine to be commissioned to shoot a wedding here ever since taking my two little grand-daughters around the Priory just over a year ago!
Actually, the saying goes 'be careful what you wish for' - it wasn't long after our visit that this couple booked us!
This couple were such fun on their pre-wedding shoot. I had also been to take pictures of their adorable little baby girl earlier in the year and felt I had got to know them well. We had shared a few laughs and they were really relaxed in their photos!
Before the wedding I visited the venue one Saturday to get the low down on what and how things flowed on the day. I always do this whether I have shot a wedding at a venue or not, but on this occasion, of course, I had not, and definitely wanted to know exactly what went on!
Days before the wedding the wind had been howling and the rain had been falling, we had kind of got used to the idea that was what was going to happen on the day, but as luck would have it the sun showed its face every now and then and there was no rain.
The wind, however, was another story, hence, on arrival, the bride and her entourage huddled together in the small church entrance.
Oh if you don't know it, the bride enters and exits the Priory by the small entrance! This, I think, is a little sad as the main entrance to the church is very grand, but after the ceremony we soon marched the married couple, with guests following, around to the fabulous archway for some quick shots before the next wedding guests arrived! We never take long with group shots so it wasn't a problem at all getting finished in good time.
We even got the all important confetti shots!
Thank you to another lovely couple for allowing us to shoot their fabulous wedding day!
